New for Summer 2010: Four Day Accelerated NPTE Reviews for First Time NPTE Candidates:

You asked, we listened!!!

As the leader in providing a comprehensive approach to NPTE and NPTAE preparation, students have been asking us for years for something more than two days of sitting and listening as the instructor goes though a list of general practice questions and our full nine day comprehensive review.

Therapy Team is now offering the only four day, evidenced based, licensure exam review designed for new graduates seeking to bridge the gap between school and the NPTE.

From our 15 years of preparing PT's and PTA's for their exam, we know what you do not know and what holds you back from passing.  This accelerated review is designed to just review the typical problem areas of recent US grads so you can go into your exam with confidence the first time.

Accelerated Course will include:

  • Research and evidence based practice as tested by the NPTE incorporating evaluation, differential diagnosis, and prognosis
  • Test taking skills for a professional licensure, best answer multiple choice exam format
  • Foundational Sciences including medical conditions (Reproductive/Urinary/Endocrine/Renal)
  • Cardio/Pulmonary including response to exercise from a practice based perspective
  • Orthopedic syndromes including posture
  • Neuromuscular development across the lifespan
  • Professional Roles/Teaching and Learning

Enrollment in this course assumes you have completed a CAPTE accredited DPT/MPT degree in the previous 12 months.

NOTE: The course completion certificate for the accleerated courses will specifically state that this is not to be accepted by State licensing authorities for remediation purposes or to qualify for a re-take after failing the NPTE/NPTAE.  If you need to satisfy any states remedial requirement or pre-course requirement, only the nine-day Traditional course will qualify even if you are US educated.

Nine Day Traditional Review (Remedial) Course

Our traditional nine day review is the only evidence based comprehensive review with 15 years of experience working with both US and Internationally educated PT's and PTA's.   Our traditional course acknowledges that everyone has different weaknesses and is continuously updated to make sure you have reviewed everything on the NPTE from a current content outline, evidenced based perspective.

The goal of this course is that the next time you take the Boards, you will be able to answer any question given by the examiners with solid test taking strategies and tactics to help you focus in the NPTE's best answer format.

Of our students who took our traditional review course and reported their scores to us, we had a 100% first time US educated (DPT/MPT) pass rate for 2008 through June 2009 graduates.  If you come and do the work, you will pass.  Other review courses and flashcard companies claim up to 95% pass rates, close, but why take the chance.

US Educated who have failed at least once: If this is your second time or even fifth time, do not rush in and take your Boards without a proper comprehensive, evidenced based review.   You might think you only need just one more question correct, but unfortunately you will need to answer 250 totally new questions and that is why pass rates for second timers are significantly less than first timers and far worse for third and fourth timers.  Now is the time to take your time, and attend a comprehensive review.

Internationally Educated PT's:  The NPTE tests your knowledge of the US health care system as much as it tests physical therapist knowledge, you must know this information to pass.

Reentry PT's and PTA's:  Perhaps you let your license lapse or were licensed prior to 1997 and need to retake your Boards.  Our comprehensive review will help you bring your knowledge to current standards and let you identify areas that need additional work.

PTA's

First time, PTA pass rates are at 80%, that means 1 out of 5 PTA's fail the NPTAE the first time.  Attending a comprehensive review will help you identify areas of concern as well as learn new test taking skills that will help you focus better on your exam.  In 2008-2009 all US educated PTA's that reported scores to us, passed on their first attempt after taking our comprehensive course.
